Rep. Van Werven’s video update discussing Hailey’s Law, her legislation to help keep drunk drivers off the road.

Rep. Van Werven has introduced House Bill 2483, or “Hailey’s Law,” that would allow a law enforcement officer to direct a 12-hour impoundment of a vehicle driven by a drunk driver if it is determined to be necessary for the protection of the public. The original Hailey’s Law legislation was deemed unconstitutional in 2018 by the state Supreme Court.
